Residents of Derbyshire, Durham, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, North Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire: Applications are to be made at the Consulate General in Manchester. No appointment is needed for visa submission.
Residents of all remaining areas in UK (including London): Applications are to be made at Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) London. For this, appointment is needed and should be booked using the Online Booking System.

Valid for at least 6 months from the date of application with UK residence visa valid for at least 6 months. Passport should contain at least 2 blank pages.

Visa Notification
|
Applicants applying for special tour to China should provide visa notification issued by China National Tourism Administration or the tourism administration of related province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government. Special tour includes self-driving, hiking, cycling, horse-riding, hot air balloon, or other expeditions.

Postal Application:

Not available for applications to be made at Manchester or Edinburgh.
Available only for applicants who live in the areas whose applications are to be made at the Embassy of London.

Visa Application Procedure:
|
CVASC London: Applicants or anyone on their behalf should turn up at the CVASC during their appointed hour. They should then obtain queue number and then submit application when their number is called.
Applicants requesting the express service must lodge visa applications at the CVASC counter before 12:00 noon, Monday to Friday.
Consulate General Manchester: Submission hours are 9 am to 12 noon, Monday to Friday. For the same day service, the applications must be made before 10:30 am (Please note that long queues are likely). The collection time for the same day service is between 11:30 am and 12:00 noon on that day.

Visa Collection Procedure:

CVASC London: The applicant can come back to the centre on the collection day or can request the centre to post the passport back by mail.
If the applicant has selected return mail delivery of passport by the Centre, the Centre will charge an additional £5 for Royal Mail Special Delivery service.

Consulate General Edinburgh: Applicant will be given a pickup form after submitting the visa application. Applicant or anyone can pickup the visa by submitting this pickup form. Visa is ready for collection at the Visa Office during office hours (9am to 12noon) after 3 or 4 working days from the date when the application is accepted. If the applicant wants to pick up their visa on the third day, please tick "express" on the application form.
Consulate General Manchester: Collection hours are 10 am to 12 noon, Monday to Friday.
