Visa Processing Time:
Generally 24 to 48 hours, longer if the application is submitted at a Netherlands consulate. In busy periods processing times for applications submitted at the Netherlands consulates can increase to 4 - 6 weeks.
Processing time for applicants holding a Type C visit visa may take up to 3 months.

Visa Appointment Required:
Appointment not required if applying through Visa Application Centre. If applying through the Embassy's visa section then appointment is needed. Some Consulates in the UK do not need an appointment for visa submissions. Click Here to contact them to confirm if an appointment is needed or not.
Visa Appointment Procedure:
If applying at the Embassy then an appointment can be booked by calling 07921700307 between 13:00-13:30 hrs Monday to Friday. The Visa Application Centre will process only 30 applications per day on a first serve basis.
Visa Application Fee:
EUR 60 payable in GBP only.
Free for applicants related to EEA nationals.
Visa fees at the embassy can only be paid in cash (GBP) or by postal order. Cheques, debit or credit cards are not accepted. However fees can be paid by Credit or debit card at the Visa Application Centre.
Additional service charge of GBP 24 is applicable per application for all applications made at Netherlands Visa Application Centre.
Documents Required:
Application Form
Completed and signed application form with 2 recent passport size photos.
Passport
Need to be valid for more than 3 months beyond the validity of the requested visa, with 1 blank page to affix the visa sticker. British Residence Permit must also exceed by more than 3 months the validity of the requested visa.
Accommodation
Confirmed hotel booking covering all your stay in the Schengen countries.
Transportation
Only a travel plan outlining where they intend to go (which countries, cities, etc), how they intend to travel and where they intend to stay is required. The embassy recommends applicants not to book a flight before they have submitted their application.
Financial Means
A recent statement of UK current account or traveller's cheques showing funds of a minimum of EUR 34 (Approximately GBP 30) per person per day to be spent in the Schengen area. Cash, overdraft or credit card facilities are not accepted as a proof of financial means.
Status Proof
If employed: A recent and original letter from the employer stating the start date of the employment contract and their last payslip.
If self-employed: A letter from their solicitor, accountant or Company House.
If a student: A recent and original letter from school, college or university confirming attendance.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance for the whole period of travel with a minimum amount of EUR 30,000 covering any medical, hospitalisation and repatriation costs valid for all member Schengen states. In the applicant is insured through their bank then they have to submit proof of this.
Letter of Invitation
Required only if the applicant visiting friends and family who are also acting as their sponsors. Original letter of guarantee legalised by the town hall from the sponsor in The Netherlands with a copy of their passport, residence permit and payslips from the last 3 months.
Postal Application:
Postal Applications are not accepted by the embassy however applicants residing outside Greater London (Outside M25) can send the application by post to the Netherlands Visa Application Centre.
Visa Application Procedure:
All applications even from applicants travelling as part of a group must be made in person.
Copies of all supporting documents are to be provided.
Applicants can submit their applications at the Visa Application Centre between 0830-1100hrs Monday to Friday except on weekends and Embassy declared holidays.
Visa Collection Procedure:
For applications lodged at the embassy, the passports can be collected, after approval, on any working day, between 15:00-16:00 hrs Monday to Friday.
If the applicant desires the passport to be posted back then they have to submit a pre paid self addressed special delivery envelope during the application submission else an additional charge of GBP 5 is charged by the embassy (or GBP 7.40 by the Visa Application Centre) for returning the passports by post.
For applications lodged at the Visa Application Centre, applicants are advised to track the status of their application on the website after 72 hours not before 10:30hrs of submission before coming to collect their passport at the Netherlands Visa Application Centre. Applicants can collect their passport by showing the receipt and proof of application submission. Applicant's relatives can collect the applicants processed passport by showing the receipt and proof of application submission and by producing a letter of authorisation from the applicant and the proof of relationship.
General Visa Information:
Visa can be applied from a maximum of 12 weeks before the start of the trip.
