The holder of this visa can stay on this permit for a maximum of 2 years after which they have to change the visa type.
A job offer and sponsorship is required from a company in Switzerland to apply for this visa.
This visa is only good for the job in the designated company and is not transferable.
A new permit may not be issued if the holder wishes to change jobs.
The granting of this visa is dependent on quota of the number of third-country nationals staying in Switzerland not been met for the year.

This permit is issued for those who are resident in Switzerland for a longer period of time for employment. The difference between B-Permit and L-Permit is that B-Permit can be renewable every year (until permanent residency is obtained) as oppposed to L-Permit's maximum validity of 2 years.
